Certificates and Rewards
Kindergarten
Learning is a lifelong journey and it begins in those early precious years in Kindergarten. The lessons learned, and the teachers who made lasting impressions mold students for their entire lifetime! A kindergarten diploma is just as important as a college degree and one should celebrate all successes both past and present!
High School
I graduated high school in 1996. They say we were the last generation who learned to play in the street, we were the 1st who played video games and the last to record songs off the radio on a cassette tape. We learned how to program the VCR before anyone else, play from the Atari, to super Nintendo- We were the generation of Tom and Jerry, Captain Kangaroo, Mr Dress-up. We traveled in cars without seat belts or air-bags...and so I could relive my childhood. I fondly remember high school and I am looking forward to walking the halls once more!
N.A.I.T - Television Broadcasting
This was my total dream job! With this education, I traveled and worked in some very amazing places with some very unique people. I started in Regina, Saskatchewan of all places working on various movies and television shows. I have worked all across western Canada and I loved the flexibility and transience. But transience is not suitable for family life, and so with this as my background and passion, I embark on a new educational route into teaching. I think this diploma gives me an edge to my teaching career.
Kindness, Respect and Acceptance
Here I am bragging! I received classmate of the year every year of my elementary and high school years except for one. Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself. One should never underestimate the power of respect and acceptance of others and that is why I will brag about these awards all day long. I am proud of the type of person my parents and teachers have helped me to become and I can only hope to teach the same lessons in life I have learned along the way. I feel these awards represent my personality and my willingness to accept and love every unique person for exactly who they are. Kindness, respect and acceptance will never be vacant from my classroom.
Creativity and the Arts
Life isn't about finding yourself, life is about CREATING yourself! What a wonderful saying - and it is something that every student should have the opportunity to understand. It is also something that teachers, school boards and parents should encourage. The path for creative freedom should always be an option for children in school and life - Talent is not something that should be taken lightly and talent comes in many guises and forms. I like to think myself as talented...not a master of any but a lover and encourager of music and art and photography and really anything that shines a brighter light on a person's soul.
Lakeland College Dean's Honour Roll
I think it is easy to do well at something when you enjoy what you are doing. I have enjoyed my classes and experience at Lakeland College and it is wonderful that I have this honour roll certificate to prove that. I have been on the honour roll for every semester that I have been at Lakeland College...yeah me!
Lakeland College Academic Award
This is such a nice award - it is proof that hard work can pay off!
